Album Notes

The Godlike is a rock band. It was created -in Buenos Aires, in 2005- by Javier Lanne (vocals/guitar), Matias Teran (drums) & Alan Smithee (sequencer/backing vocals).

Inspired by the "do it yourself" philosophy, the 3-piece started writing and playing and recording their own songs, taking care of every aspect of their music. They soon developed a personal style that Lanne once described on a radio interview as "...The Beatles -or, better still, Roxette- in DisneyWorld, being raped by the likes of Black Sabbath and Nirvana, while Andre Breton watches the scene from a distance and laughs his ass off..." Even though it was an obvious mockery of conventional genres, this description allows one to glimpse some of the musical characteristics of the band. In other words, the melodic sensitivity, the distorted guitar riffs and the "georgemartin-esque" arrangements, clearly surrealistic.

Following the release of their self-produced demo (2006, Cadavre Exquis Records), The Godlike is currently gigging and gigging and gigging, until we reach you. Our goal? To conquer the world, of course!
