May 2002 is when Going Nowhere was born, consisting of four individuals from Sioux City, IA. They play a variety of cover songs from all eras as well as original songs. Going Nowhere has a style comparable to No Doubtâ€, Blink 182, Avril Lavigne and The Foo Fighters. Going Nowhere is Nicole Stewart-age 25-lead vocals, Chad Stewart-age25-drums/vocals, Jeremy (Bear) Merchant-age-23-guitar/vocals, and Jeremy Gothier-age 22-bass guitar/vocals.
Going Nowhere released their debut CD titled, "Let It Pour," August 9, 2002. One day prior to the release, "Let It Pour" was welcomed with a prominent story and review by KCAU Channel 9 News. The first single "When it Rains" has been a hit on Siouxland radio stations such as Star 102.3 and local college radio stations such as KAOR 91 FM on the campus of University of South Dakota and KLIF Cable Channel 41 on the campus of Briar Cliff University. Other songs on the CD that have been getting air time include "Know It All" and "J.E.L."
December 31, 2002 Going Nowhere was acknowledged as “Siouxland's Band of the Year for 2002 by Waitt Media and Star 102.3, a new award inspired by the group.
