Album Notes

Alex Goldfarb is a Minneapolis-based singer-songwriter. His latest release, Keys For Locks, features Alex on voice and guitar, as well as vocalist Annie Enneking, percussionist Marc Anderson, bassist and keyboard player Michael Nelson, and saxophone player Peter Hutter, and was produced by Michael Nelson and Pablo.

This latest collection of songs reflects Alex's continued exploration of traditional song forms fusing world rhythms with folk-inspired grooves, lush harmonies, and meditative lyrics. Part personal reflection, part social commentary, Keys for Locks finds Goldfarb singing of the quest for joy, the inevitability of death, averting eco-disaster, and the experience of inspiration among other themes. Drawing on a wide range of influences, Alex's music has been likened to Nick Drake, Ben Harper, Neil Young, and Iron and Wine.

Alex's debut album, Magnifying Glass, was released on Painted Sun Records in 2000. The album was featured in the cult surfing documentary, Land of Saints (Lee Evans/Lorien Film Productions 2002)
