Australian folk band Goldstein has released is latest single “Binge Drinker” with the band’s first ever film clip.
The film clip depicts the band playing a quiet front bar gig to an apathetic audience of white collars wanting to hear covers, uni students playing Jenga and the usual barflies.
“The film clip is meant to be representative of the kind of scene faced by a band playing original music,” Goldstein songwriter Adam Hooper said.
“Often you play to small disengaged crowds who are more interested in the footy telecast or their mobile phones. Or there are punters simply wanting someone to regurgitate their favourite songs like a jukebox. But every so often your music connects with someone and you walk away thinking it wasn’t such as bad gig after all.”
“The song Binge drinker itself was inspired by a part time job I had selling burgers and the city revelers that would come in around 3am after their big night out.”
