Album Notes

Gonculator…Less a band than a force, brought together with the goal of forging a new vein in the circulatory system of hard rock, one that oxygenates the solid pulse-pounding riffs of Zeppelin and Van Halen with breaths of musical fresh air akin to the grandest conceptions of Queen and Zappa. Gonculator's songs are healthy injections of superb, succinct songwriting, chromatically chameleonic from Weezer when well-lit to Tool at their most tenebrous. Progressive ideals in a poppier package play out like Rush meeting Wilco at the Beatles' house to rock some Iron Maiden covers.

Since their inception in 2003, Gonculator has grown out of their hometown of Hilton, NY and into the hearts and groins of unsuspecting audience members, waiting to experience a live act that would rewrite their conception of what a "great show" could be. The foursome project a unified persona that refuses to treat onlookers as passive voyeurs of their art, instead encouraging fists in the air and an air of friendship between those who came for a good time and those who came to give it to them.

Gonculator’s Family Restaurant
Opening for Rufus Wainright at SUNY Fredonia's Fredfest in 2006, Gonculator caught the ear of indie label SubCat Records. The resultant recording deal allowed for the insuppressible energy epitomized by Gonculator's on-stage antics to be properly purveyed to the public in the form of Gonculator's Family Restaurant.
