Album Notes

What kind of music would an actor, a ballet dancer, and a fiction, prose writer create if suddenly they found themselves in a room with piano, drums and bass? Imagine Chopin sitting in with Led Zeppelin or Beethoven jamming out with the Smashing Pumpkins; Clairegonwild, previously just Claire Gonwa, the three piece rock band, aspires to create a sound that is as stimulating as their live performances and as manic as Batman's Two-Face. Dynamic-piano-driven-rock may describe Claire's individual sound, but with Brad Surface on bass and Alex Whitaker on drums, the band's sound has been described as being something like Letter's to Cleo, Radiohead, Muse, and the Cranberries.
Their self-released EP, Blind Stars and Crazy Diamonds, is both visually and aurally aesthetic, which is no surprise considering all three band members attended art schools.
Live performance is a key component to the growing band. ClaireGonwild believe in entertainment. Creative show content is queen to exquisite sound quality when you attend a Gonwild concert. Not flavor of the week, but more like an infinite lot of sweets and goodies to pick from, Gonwa's sweet flavors keep fans coming back for more in this recipe for success.

Although it is only an EP, the CD offers five songs that combine the unique sound of each instrument and the vocals of Claire Gonwa into a dazzling array of brilliance. It begins and ends with my two favorite tracks Brain Drugs and Blind Stars + Crazy Diamonds which makes you only want more. I definitely recommend this EP to anyone wanting to try out something truly original and/or wants an orgy of sound in their ears.
