Album Notes
Written by Valdez – January 2008
This started with a progression of jazzy chords on an acoustic guitar. After the baseline was thought out, Valdez noticed a reggae feel to it. The lyrics came around a time when Valdez was wrapping up a bitter divorce and met his future wife. Originally named Pretty and Violet but Jesus Garcia thought Valdez was saying Pretty and Violent. All agreed that Pretty and Violent sounded better. In the fall of 2009 Valdez, Haasch and Ross played with the tune. A bridge was added to complete the song. In 2010, after Garcia and Figueroa joined, a heavy guitar solo and various percussion instruments were added to the song.
