Album Notes

Half-Life: The Moments Before... is an intensely personal album. Autobiographical to the point of confession, it is a rare culmination of two lives led for so many years apart joining around the creation of a singular and intimate vision. From the outset, 'Echoes' opens with the clipped tones of Rod Serling's narration from the classic 'Twilight Zone' and smashes into the isolated rage of Patrick McGoohan's No. 6 before a salting of blues and distorted guitar cries out an anthem for 'A Life Half Lived', and 'To My Only Daughter' reflects on sharp beauty and pain of parenthood. The album swings from recalling the past to the challenges of the present until finally 'Exorcising Ghosts' lays to rest first love and the 'Longest Night' both marvels and is horrified at man and all his wonders. This is a brave piece spliced together on a shoestring and aching to be heard.
