Album Notes

"The future of New York music" is how influential angular-rocker Tom Verlaine of the band Television described Goodfinger’s sound after seeing them live...
Ever since the release of their 5 song EP featuring ‘Outside and ‘I Know I Know You’, Goodfinger have been captivating critics and fans alike with red- hot performances in both the U.S. and the U.K.
Lead singer and New York-based artist Scrappy Calloway’s sultry rich voice & feisty attitude leads her solid, rhythmic, back-bone of a band consisting of Co-writer, Producer and Drummer, Mike Williams, ‘One-take-Frank Ciara’ on bass and the lush sounds of Seth Skolnick on guitar.
Goodfinger’s debut album, Killing with Kindness, is a perfect daily soundtrack of candid tales from far-off lands, (‘Radio Perfecto’ & ‘Sounds of the City’), relationships in limbo, (the dance orientated ‘Another Night’), a confession of a one-night stand, (‘Untouchable’), and love in a new light, (the sex-pot explosion, ‘Love Digitale’). A feeling of raw exposed emotion resonates from deep within Miss Calloway’s vocals on the epic ‘Ghost’ & ‘Killing with Kindness’, the unapologetic ‘Said and Done’ and the stripped down closing ballad ‘And so we are Forever’.
Mixed in part by Platinum selling producer, Tim O’Heir (All-American Rejects, Sebadoh, StellaStarr*), and including two tracks recorded by noted producer Andy Chase (Ivy, Tahiti 80, Juliana Hatfield) this new-found-sound moves forward with a strong sense of abandon.
With songs placed subliminally on VH1 and MTV, appearances by Miss Scrappy in one of the biggest selling video games of all time, Grand Theft Auto 4 and on the hit TV show Gossip Girl you feel like you almost know GOODFINGER ... ...maybe "the future of New York music" has already arrived?
