Album Notes

Songs from this record heard on Walk the Line and Children of Men DVD's! The song "Mississippi Mud B" was used in "Walk The Line- Johnny Cash Legacy Edition DVD" and the song"The Man Who Lost Everything" was used in the special features of the DVD - Children of Men.

Aside from singing and playing guitar with The angel/Devil, Gooding is a relentlessly prolific composer of instrumental music.

One of a series of ecopaks featuring studio recordings from 98-04- Little America is almost a double album, featuring score from the band's DVD documentary of the same name, and a handful of guitar based b-sides filling second half of this 21 track recording with a more experimental and fusion side than any of his previous lps.

The musicianship is stellar- and this record is an interesting departure from GOODING's typically dark and electronic solo records. This album was made entirely by drums, bass, various 6 and 12 string guitars and some very funny narrations from a band that spends it's life on the road. You can hear the midwest in these tracks- dusty roads, wide open fields, and the wind kicking up the dirt.

Fans of ry cooder, clapton, santana, satriani and daniel lanois should rejoice as some of the songs in the back half feature incredible guitar playing and very open ended sonic exploration.
