Album Notes

Organic guitars over heavy beats and electronic sonic landscapes. This record is reminiscent of Moby, DJ Shadow and some of Gooding's favorite composers/writers; Eric Serra, Daniel Lanois, and Peter Gabriel. The first track "shifter car" was used on NASCAR's Kasey Khanes Dirt and Drift.

This LP was written and recorded on a six week break from the road in July/August '06. It is the fifth in a series limited edition Ecopaks containing 17 or more tracks at a time...

Gooding - Breaks and Breakdowns
author: Sara

I became a fan of Gooding after seeing him play in Oklahoma in 2001. This was when he was touring to promote 3X and it quickly became one of my favorite CD's of all time. I love all of his music, but Breaks and Breakdowns really takes me back to the way I felt when I first listened to 3X. Not that it's the same sound, but there are some really great instrumental pieces on this album. The more I listen to it the more I get out of it and it seems that every few days I have a new favorite song. I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes Gooding, in particular anyone who loves 3X.
