Album Notes

Good Luck Varsity is about failing over and over again, and getting back up.

Brothers Evan and Jordan Baker began Good Luck Varsity as a duo shortly after the break-up of their former band The Rising Tide. The two had made significant strides as members of The Rising Tide, sharing the stage with bands like Hello/Goodbye and Gym Class Heroes and playing the annual Cornerstone Festival in 2006.

Looking to build on their former progress, the duo returned to Minx Project Recording Studio in Farmington Hills, MI where The Rising Tide had recorded what would be their only release on the now-defunct Aseltine Records. During the winter and spring of 2007, Evan and Jordan recorded their debut EP "Head High Heavy Hearted" with producer Mat Halliday. The 6-song EP, which was released in September of 2007, features the brothers performing all of the instruments except the drums (which were provided by Halliday).

Desiring to return to playing live shows, Evan and Jordan held auditions in the summer of 2007 and expanded the band to 6 members. The current line-up is:

Evan Baker - Vocals, Guitar, Programming
Jordan Baker - Keyboards, Programming
Dan Bishop - Guitar, Vocals
Tim Paul - Guitar, Vocals
Rich Rich - Bass, Vocals
Drew Stoutenburg - Drums
