This debut album from Good Ol' Country Railroad combines everything that's good about Old School Country and Classic Rock n' Roll with a spirit of rambunctious fun that's infectious and exciting. The creative push behind the band is a shared one, with 3 different songwriters contributing catchy tunes to an album that is varied in terms of style, and familiar in terms of pathos as the tracks on this record range from classic rock to throw-down rockabilly to western campfire singalongs. What seperates this 6-piece band from other standard 4-pieces is the presence of some deft washboard playing and some downright soulful harmonica. The Railroad also takes pride in it's 3-part harmonies, and owes it's roots to the Americana scene recently revived with soundtracks like "Oh Brother Where Art Thou". The lyrics are sometimes humorous and sometimes sorrowful, but always truthful. Good Ol' Country Railroad, featuring 3 members from the good ol' south, 2 from California boys, and one Yankee, began as a 4-piece coffee house americana act in 2001, evolving into the classic 6-piece country rock band that plays around the southern california area today. The members of G.O.C.R. are already working on material for both a 2nd and 3rd album, which they hope to release in the next two to three years.

This is a great CD with solid songwriting, top-notch playing, and it sounds terrific. It is perfect when played at top volume while driving down the freeway! Well worth the price. Buy it.
