Album Notes

"There are similarities to other guitar-player instrumental albums (Vai, Satriani, Jeff Beck) but a crucial difference is that Campbell, from Vancouver, pays attention to arrangements. He isn't just being flashy atop a functional rhythm. Thus the centrepiece, "Back to One", has more substance than a solo."
Tom Harrison, Vancouver Province.

As a guitarist working in the musical landscape of Vancouver (Canada) for over two decades, Gord has been fortunate to work with many talented musicians. His services have included performances with such artists as Annette Ducharme, the prog. instrumental unit Mind Gallery, and Six Billion Monkeys. He has enjoyed countless recording sessions with a host of writers and performers, both memorable, and not quite so memorable. He is focused on developing a style that contains both a uniqueness, and an emotional signature. Although he works with complex time signatures and chord progressions, he thrives on the enthusiasm within a raw, rock element.

Over the past 7 years he has abandoned the use of the guitar pick (always an embarrassing moment when dropping one at a gig)and found this to be a big leap forward in his playing, giving him a better overall feel for the instrument. This also allows Campbell to utilize the false harmonics, and the 1 & 2 finger taps (as well as his second appendage the whammy bar) to a much more efficient extent, all 3 techniques being used extensively on this album. A very big Thank You from Gord for the support!

I've been looking for some good instrumental music for my mom and I think she will like it as much as I have enjoyed it so far.
