Album Notes

Band Bio:

Gordon Avenue is not your typical Rock Band. Their aggressive cutting-edge rock sounds familiar, but leaves the radio airplay cookie-cutter to the Pop/Rock bands. From the Acoustic Love Song to Face Melting Hard Rock, the fusion of diversity found within their songs is truly refreshing. With great stage presence Gordon Avenue has gained wide acclaim for their unforgettable high-energy shows as well as their infectious melodies that leave their fans singing their songs for days.

The Northwestern Band started when lead singer Avery returned from a 4 month venture at the nation’s only artists’ colony exclusively for up-and-coming musicians; the Contemporary Music Center (CMC).

All of the members in the band had been friends for years and done a lot of music together; they even played a small show for a friend’s graduation party in a backyard—but nothing too serious. Shortly after Avery’s return he asked the guys if they would be interested in playing a show in Portland, and if they liked then they could talk about continuing on. They all agreed and played for the first time as “Gordon Avenue.” On this first Portland show as a band they shocked the venue’s staff by selling over 150 tickets, practically selling out the Satyricon (the oldest running venue in America) and quickly gaining “fanship” from other fans!

Now, less than a year later, “Gordon Avenue” is still packing venues with fans and have released a full length album entitled “Broken Pieces Make The Beautiful Things,” which is not your typical Debut Album! With 12 tracks of Pure Rock, mixed in with a drizzle of Hard Rock and Punk...and few surprises...this album will keep you on your toes. Not only does it have Choruses so catchy you find yourself humming it for days after one listen and Guitar Solos that cause you to push the rewind button, but it is also and album with depth; filled with honesty and touch of vulnerability that will refresh you.
