notes
"They're a graveyard smash"....San Diego CityBeat
" Just Starting to get Ugly, pairs garage rock and surf guitars with vocals reminiscent of Bobby "Borris" Pickett in the Monster Mash. If you're into bands like the Cramps or Los Straightjackets, be sure to check out San Diego's very own Gore-gons"........SDMUSICMATTERS
" The Gore-gons manage to create an unholy union of attitude and swagger and a great party tune to boot. Genre fans or anyone who likes surf and garage rock will find this album essential"...................Bart Mendoza
" This isnt necessarily bad, It just dosent seem to be the current trend right now...Luke Skywalker..........Skratch Magazine
"The Gore-gons are literally painting the town red with their freak friendly-a-go-go, appealing to fans of Horror Rock bad guys Deadbolt, Satan's Pilgrims, and The Bomboras. "Just Starting to Get Ugly" is pick-up tunes for razor smile boys and girls who stay up late and get home before sunrise, hotrods optional.".......Kim Riot.. sickamongthepure.com
"Vintage horror fans are sure to get a kick out of "Just Starting To Get Ugly", THE GORE-GONS' first full-length recording. Filled with 14 surf-punk melodies, the disc is a hoot, with tunes like "Swamp Thing" evoking the
Halloween hit "Monster Mash," and "Ghoul Bash" recalling the rousing ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW anthem "Time Warp." Though in some respects a novelty act, this Southern California quartet is nevertheless skilled, providing
rollicking riffs and droll lyrics that ensure their
efforts remain unfailingly frightening and fun" ........Jeff Berkwits....THE ILLINOIS ENTERTAINER
"Charlie don’t surf and goths don’t dance, right? To the Gore-Gons, every night in San Diego is for the dark lord. They sound like Paul Weller if he was backed by the Del-Tones, wrote lyrics like Danzig, and it all went down at a Halloween house party in O.B." —Seth Combs
"Thank god the Gore-gons are willing to think outside the psychobilly box".....Cullen Hendrix...City Beat

At the beginning I hope be clear because I don't speak good english but for me this kind of music is new and its sounds directly US and also this is good playing and I think that talk only about halloween for this cd is restrictive because it can be listened for each day .
If you like this you must listen to DEADBOLT

author: JakeCreepy surf garage more fun than frightening but I mean that in a good way. This is the stuff Dracula gets down to when he hosts his famous monster parties.

Hauntingly Horrific
author: BelladonnaI enjoyed this CD in it's entirety. Very smooth and rockin' with a haunting surf sound. A cross between Man or Astro Man meets the Cramps meets Link Ray meets 50's haunted house scream records!!!! I Highly Recommend checking this CD out. IT F'N ROX!
