Album Notes

The Gothard Sisters are three multi-talented young violinists who perform together regularly around the Seattle area. They are all three former members of the Seattle Youth Symphony orchestras where they held leadership positions, and are active in chamber music and music programs throughout their area.

They have a unique sound created by three violins, with all arrangements written by Greta Gothard specifically for their trio.

This compilation is a tribute to our favorite Christmas carols and songs, that bring back memories of holiday gatherings and parties, cookies, christmas trees, and the warm fire just as it dies down on a magical Christmas Eve.

From the inside jacket: "Our favorite part of Christmastime is when we listen to the last line of "The Night Before Christmas" by the fire, and then quickly tiptoe off to bed. The last embers of the fire are glowing quietly and all is still; a quiet magic seems to hover around the Christmas tree.
There is mystery and contentment in this moment."

Including many popular Christmas songs like "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer," and "White Christmas," the CD also includes lesser-known carols like the beautiful "Come Every Angel," and the touching "Friendly Beasts," which includes vocals by the youngest Gothard sister, Solana.

First Violin/arranger: Greta Gothard, age 20
Second Violin: Willow Gothard, age 18
Third Violin/Vocals on "The Friendly Beasts": Solana Gothard, age 12
