The Gothard Sisters are three multi-talented young violinists who perform together regularly around the Seattle area. They are all three former members of the Seattle Youth Symphony orchestras where they held leadership positions, and are active in chamber music and music programs throughout their area.
They have a unique sound created by three violins, with all arrangements written by Greta Gothard specifically for their trio.
This compilation includes all of the songs most often heard at weddings or as background music for classical events and parties. There are many happy days associated with these songs!
From the inside jacket: "Weddings symbolize the beginning of a new life, full of promise and happiness. On a sunny day in May, our parents were married at a small ceremony watched by close friends and family. When the ceremony came to an end, the minister announced them as husband and wife and closed with these words: "...and may you be be blessed, reeeal good."
And they have been, ever since that day."
Including many popular classical songs such as Pachelbel's kanon, Amazing Grace, Ave Maria, and Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring, this is a very elegant recording of all the classical standards for weddings and parties.
First Violin/arranger: Greta Gothard, age 21
Second Violin: Willow Gothard, age 18
