The Government Issue Orchestra is a high energy, driving, oldtime appalachian stringband based out of Portland, Oregon.

The band is lead by the twin fiddles of Michael Ismerio and Sophie Vitells, with Maggie Brunjes on Banjo, Caroline Oakley on guitar, and Patrick Lind on a washtub bass of his own design dubbed the "laundrophone".
