Album Notes

This is Grady's third CD, which he recorded in the Spring of 2011 at Max Stout Studios in Missouri. You can tell that Grady lives by what Elvis once said "... without a song, the day would never end, without a song, the road would never bend, without a song...". This album was penned completely by Grady, with some help from Chuck Loucks on "Over and Over Again". "Beer Money" and "Jim Beam Blues" are a couple of clever, catchy tunes with a similar tongue-in-cheek theme. You can hear his main influences, Elvis and Conway Twitty, in the other tracks, but he is no impersonator; his songs and his style are his own, from forlorn love songs to upbeat dancin' songs.

Grady has engaged some talented help for this album. With David Forrest Small doing the programming, producing, bass and keyboards, plus Curtis Wayne Stroud on Lead Guitar and singing backup, to Michael Reinig's soaring sax playing, along with Reva Benefiel's piano and Becca Jean Schaeffer's sweet, spot-on soprano harmonies, Grady has put together a great framework in which to place his voice, songwriting, and guitar. If you like modern country with a twist of honey tonk, this one is for you. Be carfeul, or you'll get the "Broken Heart Flu", too!

So glad I ran across this new album. It runs the gamut from honky tonk to modern country. The songs about booze :) sound very entertaining. Love the girl singer on Second Chance, gorgeous voice. After hearing the samples, I want more, and ordered a copy for me and one for my sister's birthday. Definitely not like any other country album I've heard. Hope more albums are to come!
