Heavy hitting, musclehead, biker rock - not for the faint-hearted, pretty much describes this foursome from san Francisco, Ca. Their claim to fame is dressing up like old ladies and destroying your eardrums. The San Francisco Bay Guardian calls them "Fire-starting, booze-swilling, dress-wearing nitwits who play an incredible slab of proto punk metal." After listening to their self-titled Dead Teenager debut it's easy to see that their press fits them quite well - like an old dress from tent and awning. Their anthem "Granny City Riot" puts it all in perspective with its Texas twang intro that trainwreaks into a moshpit closing.
The band, Deanamite (v), Hockey Pants (g,v), Horribly Charred (d) and Scary (b) keep the guitars tuned to basic garage-punk feedback with drums that echo in a tin-can chamber. Killer tunes like "Only When I'm Dead" the riff-infested "My Life Was Ruined By Rock 'N Roll" and the monster "Grannies Gonna Get You" beg for a Detroit origin. -http://www.thecutting-edge.net
