Meditations

by Grant Clarkson

Four new "chamber jazz" compositions by Grant Clarkson featuring fretted electric bass and Richard Sellers on drums. Themed around the subject of meditation, going deeper into the subconscious and the spirit realm, and its not all cute but it is funky.
Genre: Jazz: Chamber Jazz

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This is the latest batch of original compositions with the methodology we’ve been developing over the last couple years; which is to say, I compose and perform all the parts, starting with electric bass, then my Rhodes piano, guitar, and then organ and horn section by way of MIDI bass. Then I hand off the master tracks to Richard Sellers to perform and record his drum / percussion part.

We’ve developed and improved on this approach both technically and artistically. So what we got this time is four tracks approximately 10 minutes each, with traditional jazz and latin flavors. We mix the sessions down at Richard’s studio (the Soul Kitchen).

This is the one for those interested in full length writing and are not afraid of progressive and edgy musical ideas, if I may be so bold as to say so myself...
