Album Notes

I wanted to write an album about growing up, transitions, moving away from home, falling down and getting back up, getting knocked around a little in the big city, and if you're lucky, finding your true love. It's about the boundless optimism of youth, and it's inevitable collision with reality, for better or worse -- like in the sardonic look at politics in "If I Were King," sung by a shameless populist all puffed up about himself. I added "Monkey on a Rocket" as a bonus track for the March 2008 re-release. I love this song. The READ buttons below will open up lyric sheets.
