Swedish Americana rock !! hmm...Sweden might not be the first place to look for Americana oriented acts, but in fact the music has a strong foothold in Sweden and Grapeland is a new band, with an interesting mix, evolving from the Swedish underground scene...

“Even if the music has a strong American roots influence you can still sense the mood and harmony from their Swedish folk music heritage...”

Formed by Olle “Olzon” Schelander(Vocals, guitar) and Göran Svenningsson(guitar, vocals). Two well renowned musicians from Gothenburg, Sweden. Both with individual careers in bands referred to Rock, blues, Country and roots music.


BIO
In 2004 Schelander had a pile of newly written songs on his desk and was seeking to try out his new material. He discussed his ideas for a demo tape, and asked Svenningson to participate as a musician as well as lending his “producers ears” in helping to decide what was worth recording.
They hit it off immediately and started throwing around production ideas for a number of songs. Both felt a strong potential for the material as well as for their compatibility in the recording studio. With the help from a few session musicians, slowly but surely their demo project grew into a full-scale record production. Realizing the reality of the record business today they decided to release the project themselves……The debut CD: “GrapeLand, Reality show”, scheduled for release in Sweden in the turn of 2005/2006.
