Album Notes

From the Wilds of the North of England come the Indie Acoustic Psychedelic sounds of The Gravitons. Redetermination is the first album from the band with songs of beauty, ugliness, hope, failure, love, loss, joy, melancholy ... and other stuff.

With slices of folk, country, rock and melodic punk along the way, The Gravitons carve a unique niche which is both familiar and original; a kind of unusual hybrid of Contemporary English Folk and West Coast American Psychedelia.

Think Dylan, Jeff Buckley, Pink Floyd, Roy Harper, Woody Guthrie and the Byrds fuelled to excess by carbonated caffeine narcotic substitutes .. Enjoy!

REVIEWS:-

"It..s ultimately rare for an artist to combine so many obvious sublime influences and pull it off with such amazing results, ..redetermination.. is the continuation, maybe the next phase of a British psych/folk renaissance." Review by Mojophenia

"... the album you put on mid morning, on a day that you have to do something stressful, the LP soothes you, makes you happy, and reminds you that everything is going to work out fine." Review by Even In The Future

"... one day in the future it wouldn't be such a big surprise to see them linked in a direct line to Super Furry Animals, The Kinks, Roy Harper, and Barrett-era Pink Floyd."

"This outfit's released an amazing debut album in Redetermination, and are rapidly garnering favorable attention both in and outside of the U.K.- don't be surprised to catch 'em playing live on one of your favorite "alt-music" sources sometime soon" Review by Round The Dial

TESTIMONIALS:-

"The album arrived, I absolutely love it!! Gorgeous melodic psychedelia . . . well chuffed, nice one guys!! :-)))" a fan of The Gravitons

"...love the Byrds feel so of I went to my local iTunes store and bought the album. Love it!" a fan of The Gravitons

"Your music sounds like summer :)" a fan of The Gravitons

"can't think of an appropriate adjective to describe how your music makes me feel without sounding like a cliché’, which you are definitely not. The closest I can come perhaps would be with combinations of compound words, something like SUPERLATIVELY SUBLIME or MARVELOUSLY REMARKABLE or even ECSTATICALLY BRILLIANT. Suffice it for me to say that I am truly elated and you can count me as a newfound FAN.

I hope 'THE GRAVITONS' are successful in a BIG way. The masses really need music of this caliber now more than ever.
Also, I quite enjoyed reading your 'List Of Influences'. It had me laughing out loud on an otherwise quiet Sunday morning." a fan of The Gravitons

The Gravitons are getting fresh with us with this excellent CD! I haven't heard music that makes me feel this way in quite some time. Feels like a beautiful blend of dancing, sunshine, rain, and introspection. Sometimes sounding similar to the Beatles and at other times, reminiscent of Coldplay, their sound is still their own and is definitely making me smile!
