The Gravy Boys play Acoustic Americana Music.
The Gravy Boys perform songs that draw on our rich heritage of American music: From depression-era folk music such as Jimmie Rodgers and the Carter Family; to the high-lonesome sound of the Louvin Brothers; to honky-tonk era country music such as Hank Williams, Lefty Frizzel, George Jones and Merle Haggard; to 60's era folk-country-rock such as Bob Dylan and The Band; to contemporary alt-country and singer-songwriters such as Whiskeytown, Son Volt, Steve Earle, Ryan Adams and John Hiatt.
The Gravy Boys perform with acoustic guitars, mandolin, upright bass, harmonica and dobro. They circle around one microphone to sing sweet 2, 3 and 4 part-harmonies with soul, passion and an excitement that captures the fancy and attention of all who listen.
'Working The Angels For Handouts' is the bands' debut album of all-original music. Featuring rich harmony, catchy melodies and thoughtful lyrics, the Gravy Boys have captured the spirit of depression era folk music, early brother-duet country, and honky-tonk swing. The 5 piece band is rounded out on this record with fiddle playing from guest musicians John Garris, and John Teer from Chatham County Line.

Blast from the Past
author: Tom Powell
Was great to hear the Spagnardi boys again!!!! Played with them in a band some 20+ years ago (YES, it has been that long!!!) and it is great to hear their harmonies and instrumentals. Adding Billy to the mix as a writer is awesome. Overall, loved the CD. I am anxiously looking forward to the next CD. I am also looking forward to getting south to see them in person. Took the CD to work and recruited some more fans. - Spanky

Buy this fantastic album!

I recently purchased this album and was stunned once again that another band from the Carolina's has figured out new ways to blend Americana music with a fresh edge. What is in the water there? The Gravy Boys music wraps around you like the omni directional microphone that graces the album cover. Buy this fantastic album!
