Album Notes

Grayhawk is a Minneapolis group of rock, folk and blues vets with three lead vocalists (Brad Iverson, Scott Bolin and Mark Nelson) who have worked together for over 20 years in various Midwest cover bands and in the studio.

Co-Produced by Mark Nelson and Paul Martinson (Bob Dylan, Leo Kottke, Dave Brubeck, Cat Stevens), the writing for "Gravity Matters" comes primarily from Nelson's introspective look at a wide range of professions and personalities from his years of travel around the U.S.

Stories of lawyers in Washington, D.C., rural Amish families, Hmong refugees, high school friends who have disappeared, grunge rock singers and retired nuns are all found in the CD's 10 selections.

Drummers Pete Johnson (Manhattan Transfer)and Bill Berg (Dylan, Flim & BBs), and bass players Gordon Johnson (Maynard Ferguson, Chuck Mangioni), Dick Hedlund (Bonnie Raitt, Al Jarreau), and Billy Peterson (Steve Miller Band) contribute a natural energy and drive to all of the songs, tastefully arranged around the atmosheric keyboards of Bolin and Nelson's multi-styled guitar tracks.

Reviews have likened "Gravity Matters" to Paul Simon's "Graceland," and there is a distinct Don Henley / Joni Mitchell / Mark Knopfler influence in many of the lyrics and vocals depicting unique stories and characters.
