Green Andy is an artist from New York City. He tries to make songs as big as possible, using as little as possible. Other musicians don't like him because it takes him about 8 minutes to write a song and record it. If that. He can't really play any instruments, but I think you'll agree that's not really so important.
In his non-Green days, Andy sang for several Detroit hard rock bands, including Stone Beggar and Gutwrench. So if you own one of their phenomenally rare recordings, congratulations: listen closely and you'll find it's usually Green Andy on vocals.
DeadAngel e-zine describes Green Andy like this: "Green Andy has an interesting aesthetic: He prefers doing everything in one take, doesn't like going on endlessly (most of his songs clock in at less than two minutes), and doesn't like shoveling tons of stuff onto a cd just because there's room for it. The songs themselves are loud, frequently distorted blasts of rhythm and cryptic instrumentation that lean heavily toward repetition and unexpected movements from one kind of sound to another. This is fractured sound-collage dementia, like something you'd hear from a band on Load Records but far more concentrated (and sometimes far more intense -- Andy's a fan of gut-busting volume hell). Cool, concentrated, and presented in a manner that gets the idea across with each song, then moves on to the next without overdoing things. It's an interesting approach, and one worth checking out."
Green Andy is blushing.
