After growing up together on the streets of Eugene, Oregon, Matt Barnhart and Jeff Masterson decided to form a band the likes of which the world had never seen. Both attended the University of Oregon where they officially formed Green is for Go. The duo swaps instruments regularly sporting a banjo, violin, guitar, mandolin, ukulele, and washboard drums. They have played together since 2003, venturing around the Northwest and beyond. Their secret to success is first taking everything good in the world (rock, bluegrass, folk, comedy, sweet love, etc.), and by channeling from some higher power, turning it into sheer hotness. As Eugene Weekly puts it, Green is for Go “grooves together like a well-oiled machine” and their songs have a “layered, technically impressive acoustic sound” while being “a celebration of all that is young, silly, fast, and fun.” Green is for Go wants to be your friend and make all your wildest dreams come true.
