Album Notes

Greg Cooper grew up in Washington D.C. in the late 60's and early 70's. He was influenced by local guitarist's Roy Buchanan, Nils Lofgren and Danny Gatton. Moved to Los Angeles and was a student of Jimmy Wyble, Phil Upchurch, Ron Anthony, Charlie Shoemake, Ted Greene and Doug MacDonald. He has two Guitar Instrumental CD's "Down To The Wire" and "Shades of Wood and Steel". In 2010 his original tune "Blues For Bette" was used on MTV's True Life - I'm A Gambler episode. He is the author of two guitar Instructional books, "The Chord Scale Guide" and "Melodic Lines for the Intermediate Guitarist", which are available through Hal Leonard. He has just completed his 3rd book ready for publication in January 2012. Formerly a guitar educator for National Guitar Workshop, and Blue Bear School of Music, San Francisco, he has spent over 30 years as an instructor. An ASCAP member for 20 years. He currently has an endorsement deal with Heritage Guitars USA.
