Album Notes

Gregg Won-lead songwriter and guitar slinger of Bridgeport, Ct.s own "STARFX", stumbled into the Connecticut punk scene in 1977. "EPITOME" which many call the founding fathers of Connecticut punk/new wave-released their first e.p. in 1978-which actually got airplay. Responsable for local clubs "The Snake Pit" in Bridgeport, "The Shandy Gaff" in Milford, and the "Rock Ferry", a concept EPITOME came up with that got our fellow punk bands playing live on a 4 hour cruise/party up and down
Long Island Sound and boasts first Conn. band to play Max's Kansas City and C.B.G.B.'s in the same month on 2nd & 3rd gigs.
"THE KIDS" came after 3 members of EPITOME went on their own to form pop/new wave band adding keys and additional guitar-they released a 4 song ep on "Whiplash Records". after that Gregg Won took on guitar duties for "THE SHAPES" a "Rons Place" fave-party band. Left to work with "DANGEROUS CLUB"-doing "Warlocks" on 4-song cassette, also co-wrote and played on "Meltdown" for C.B.S. in-house production of "Makers of the Platinum Disc". in 1982 fronted "THE WET DREAMS" a throw together back-up band playing all Gregg Won material. 1982 recorded "WON-WAY" for Heretic Records and Tapes-reuniting The Shapes as rhythm section. 1983-Los Angeles bound-worked with "The Gail Warning band"-1984-"The Chris Audia Band"-playing all guitars and producing 4 song demo for A&M records. 1986 joined "Slaughterhouse 5"-records l.p. for Ghetto-Way records-1988 formed "The Vynil Virgins"-a rock project that included members of Motorcycle Boy-Little Itch-Killer Crows-Legal Weapon-1989 worked with "Wrestless Natives"-1990-played guitar for"Ellie Mae's Bisquits" and did 7-song demo-1994 formed "The Sonic Disciples" played all guitars & produced 4 song demo. 1995-"The Fancy Lads" again all guitars-produced & arranged 45 for "Planet of Noise" records-released "Everything Is You"-1996-all guitars and production on "Have You Ever" for Jeff Dahl's "Trash on Demand-vol.2" cd. 1998-2002-worked with conn. based "Zoul" teaming up with ex-Dummy Steve Ellison for many "Broken Record" indie-cds. 2003-played guitar with "ZOUL" on "I Love You"- a double cd release from Conn. faves The Furors entitled "LETS GET FURIOUS-A TRIBUTE to THE FURORS" on THE THINMAN label. 2004-"IT IS WHAT IT IS"-covering all Gregg Won originals from past to now, including live cuts-demos-out takes-new studio, and "Zoul" un-plugged. Due to an overwhelming response-a "Live with THE WET DREAMS" & mucho bonus trax is in the works for a 07/?/04 release.
