Greg Hester
Greatest Hits Vol. 1
© 2001 Greg Hester (634479225789)
CD permanently out of stock. Sorry!
Southern R&B influenced, blue eyed soul from a voice that leaves you weak in the knees and begging for more. Greg Hester is the voice of Americana with honest lyrics, and a sound forged from Van Morrison to James Brown, creating a genre uniquely his own.

This CD was recorded at the legendary Capricorn Studios in Macon, GA, and is a compilation of songs I wrote over 10 years ago, representing diverse musical tastes, from Gospel and Soul to R&B and country. Not surprisingly, I have several versions of these songs, but I felt these were the more interesting takes, so I hope you enjoy them as well.

Great lyrics and a Powerful voice
author: Roy CunninghamVan Morrison, Johnny Cash, Steve Earle, David Allen Coe, and even James Brown - you can hear Hester's influences ringing through in this compilation of songs recorded at the Historic Capricorn Studios in the late 1990's. Greg's ability to contrive witty, irreverent humor (Hello Rose) and write tear-jerking love songs (Nora) is amazing.
sounds like...
author: Freebyrdif you like Van Morison, Johnny Cash and James Brown, then this is the CD for you. it's country rock with blues and soul... when this guy get's a label behind him, he's going to be bigger than Faith Hill.
