Album Notes

One thing you should know
before we get started...

Gregory and the Hawk
is not a group of Gregories and Hawks. It is the solo project of Brooklyn's Meredith Godreau, who one day felt like naming the songs for her brother.

Meredith
hails from very upstate New York;
the daughter of a Bronx-born Spanish-speaking Puerto Rican daddy and a Dutch-speaking Rotterdam mum. She began playing acoustic guitar at the age of 14, drawing on her experience as a classically trained violin/viola player. The guitar is self-taught, played in the finger picking style, and used mostly to support her romantic poetry.

A rotating cast
of talented musician friends has accompanied Gregory and the Hawk on home recordings and shows around the North Eastern United States for the past ten years. Thus far, all her following has been gained through word of mouth and internet jabberwocky-mish-mosh,
and her two releases have been
all-pur-shipped-from-bedroom (Gregory and the Hawk, 2005 and The Boats and Birds EP, 2006).

She is now making her debut full-length In Your Dreams available on Short Stories' infant indie label Pearly Gates!.

Amazing
author: Caroline
On the same way as 'The Boats and Birds Ep', I'm just in love with. She's so a great singer. The lyrics are real poems, and the songs are caress. Just amazing!!!

I have not listened to the whole cd, but what I have heard is simply amazing! It's so calm, and the words actually make sense. Good job. VERY good job.
