Dear Listener,

The idea for this CD sprang from a handful of solo shows that I played at a noisy but friendly little bar in Dallas called Lakewood Bar and Grill. The house sound engineer, lifelong friend Gregg Pearlman, recorded a few of these sets, and on listening back I was struck by how these unembellished versions held a certain charm. Many of the songs on this CD have never been properly recorded before, and they appear here in the form they were originally written – one guitar and one voice. We got lucky with enough of the live takes (when the crowd was quiet and the levels were good) to entertain the thought of sharing these nights with those who were not there. So I hope as you listen you’ll pour yourself a glass of wine and imagine yourself with me in a little bar in Dallas.
