Album Notes

Greg Winkler performs a variety of original acoustic music from upbeat and humorous songs to passionate ballads. Blending acoustic guitar and smooth vocals, Greg offers extraordinary songs about ordinary things.

"Greg's amazing songwriting and direct delivery just constantly blows me away," says Eric Hester, President of the Madison Songwriters' Group.

Road to Mountains, Greg's latest CD, is a mix of toe-tapping pop tunes and heartfelt melodies. The title cut speaks to the beauty of finding one's own road, often hidden in plain sight. "Cajun Education" proclaims the unique benefits of going to college in New Orleans. And the tender, "Moving On," champion of the folk/acoustic category in the 2003 Madison Songwriting Contest, heralds the transition to a new life. CD Street proclaims, "Great CD, wonderful voice, and great vibe."

Raw Apples, Greg's first CD, reminds the listener that the simple harmony of a voice and an acoustic guitar is often enough.

Greg has been an active member of the Madison Songwriters' Group since 2002, hosting a Songwriters in the Round in Janesville, Wisconsin and contributing the song "Speak" to the MSG Compilation CD.

Greg has lived on the outskirts of Edgerton for 15 years and has performed publicly since 1997. He started his music career as a thirty-something social worker and has played coffee houses, clubs, fairs, and festivals around the Midwest.

As Greg's music becomes more popular, he is garnering support throughout the Midwest. His shows are consistently described as "excellent," "amazing," and "incredible." Be sure to see him soon
