"A+. A startling discovery, for sure. Griddle manages to coalesce elements of melodic rock 'n' roll, garage punk and traditional prog into one giddy rush, evoking in turns the Ramones, the Flaming Lips, the Minutemen and yes, even Van Der Graff Generator. Make sure you don't pass up the opportunity to witness modern pop-rock evolution in action." - Kevin Mathews, PowerOfPop.com (Named one of the Top 30 Albums of 2003)
"They effortlessly meld pop and prog together like it was nobody's business. There was even a hint of glamrock in there... I made myself giggle while watching them when I started imagining their music as the soundtrack to 'Hedwig and the Angry Inch pt. 2: The German Impressionist Years.'" - Jake Thomas, PlayingInFog.com
"This is one take on what a new fresh sound of pop could sound like. The band bounces all over the place, pumping out some unusual rhythms and stop/starts, while keeping things firmly grounded on Planet Earth and the importance of memorable melodies." - Bruce Brodeen, NotLame.com

Fanastic!

One of the best records of the year. Everything great about Griddle is here--- catchy (and unpredictable) hooks, meaty licks, unusual songforms, heartfelt vocals, sonic invention, humor, and loads of spirit. Pick it up!

A must have for those looking for some great new tunes

Although I enjoyed Beak, Griddles first CD..Turning Violet definitely shows that after their first forray into recording they have gotten it down. This CD sounds Awesome and the mixing is first rate. The music is creative and gives you quite the mixture of rock and melody. Also, make sure you pay attention to the whole album to catch the elusive extra track that is split up among the other songs. A very creative way to keep you listening. Almost a minor tribute to those 8-Tracks from years gone by. Buy both their albums for a walk on the funky side of some new and up and coming musicians, you will be glad you did. These guys are Great!

Griddle is an amazing talent with a sharp, complex second album that shows that very important artistic step forward. If intense tracks like "Loss For Words" don't move you....check your pulse!
