Biography:
GRIFFIN from Trondheim, Norway was formed as a 4-piece in 1998. After releasing two demos, they signed with Season of Mist and released two albums, “Wasteland Serenades” (1999) and The Sideshow (2002), later of which featured the newly joined guitarist, Marcus Silver. Just before the European tour in 2002 with Dark Tranquillity and Sinergy, the singer was replaced by Pete Beck. The 3rd album “No Holds Barred” was recorded with this line-up with Alexi Laiho (Children Of Bodom) producing and providing guitars/vocals here and there. This album was very well received everywhere in the world, especially in their home of Norway where they received the praise as “the new rules of the Norwegian metal throne”! Following a stormy appearance at Wacken Open Air in 2004, they recorded the new album “Lifeforce” with Andy LaRocque (King Diamond) producing this time. A licensing deal with Massacre Records put the band in a higher level, and they are getting ready for the European tour with King Diamond in April/May 2006.
Selling Points:
* 4th album from the Norwegian Melodic/Power Metal band.
* Produced by Andy LaRocque (King Diamond)
* Featuring an exclusive bonus video track “Utopia”.
* Melodic twin-guitar harmonies and vocal choruses, reminiscent of Thin Lizzy or TNT.
* Last album “No Holds Barred” was produced by Alexi Laiho (Children Of Bodom), who repeatedly asked the Griffin guitarist Kai Nergaard to join his band!
* Had a successful appearance at Wacken Open Air festival in Germany in 2004, which was included in the festival CD/DVD.
* Endorsed with ESP Guitars
* European tour with King Diamond in April/May 2006!
