Album Notes

This Christmas album features Jennifer and her wonderfully musical Family and Friends. There's a taste of her own Christmas memories throughout the album, but the final track really captures the essence of what she loves: The family, the friends, the food and the fun.

Ever since her first professional performance at age two, Jennifer Grimm has been singing on stages worldwide.

By age 13, she had already appeared on television, performed in countless theme parks, casinos, night clubs and resorts with her family, and recorded in several studios across the country.

Music continued to play a major role in Jennifer's life throughout high school & college. Although her academic focus was mathematics, she was best known for her performances & recordings with the Twin Cities' R&B bands, Power of 10 and Soul Tight Committee; Minnesota jazz artist, Gene Adams; her continued appearances with her family, her roles in various cabaret shows such as Fairy Tales, Lost in Boston & A Christmas Carole Petersen and a variety of other featured performances.

As of 2007, she has hit #2 on Aruba's year-end top 100 survey, opened up for Oleta Adams at the St. Vincent Blues Festival, and has completed her third cabaret in New York City along with other solo performances on the Caribbean and Mediterranean Seas. In addition, she has completed her second solo album, A Christmas with Family and Friends, that followed her debut album, All Of Me, that not only demonstrates her versatility, but also presents her songwriting skills.

Jennifer continues to prepare for solo engagements worldwide as well as with various groups, cabaret artists and theaters and always looks forward to her upcoming musical projects.

Great Jazz Christmas album

I second Carol Swanson's review. Jennifer Grimm has an excellent voice and expressive vocal style. She deserves to be better known. For instance, I think she's better than Jane Monheit. The instrumentals are excellent. I don't care for the voice of the guy who sings with her on "Baby, It's Cold Outside". Even if I did like his voice, their voices are too different; she needed to have someone with a warmer voice sing this with her. For some reason, the tone of her voice is different on cut 9 than on the other slower-paced tunes; there's something I don't like about her tone here, but I can't put my finger on it. The last cut is annoying - a bunch of people talking over each other for well over a minute. Then they finally get their act together and start singing. Some of these people have good voices; others don't. The actual singing isn't bad- it's no better or worse than most families who are singing on the spot without having practiced. What drives me up the wall is the talking. However, this problem is easily solved- I just won't listen to the last track. The rest of the album is quite enjoyable. I plan on taking this album home with me so my parents, brothers and sisters can hear it. I'm sure I'll listen to this CD a lot. 4.5 stars

Really Nice, and a Bit Different.
author: Harper Granville Grimm
Really nice, and its "jazzy" nature is an interesting change of pace from most Christmas music. Jennifer has a great voice, the songs are well done, and the other musicians involved seem to be first rate. I bought one of these CDs during the summer, when I happened upon Jennifer's site while I was looking for Grimm's. (We haven't figured out if we are related, but it looks doubtful). I was so impressed with it that I bought more as pre-Christmas gifts for my sisters and daughter.
