Album Notes

I wasn’t thinking of making another CD.

I’ve already traveled the nation, singing, telling stories –

But then -

I was invited to a church service on a Wednesday Night.
The first song they sang was “Heavenward.”
Everyone was standing, singing, nice and polite.

I couldn’t understand how they could be so well-behaved.

(Isn’t this just like me, the eternal trouble maker . . . )

I could see Celtic Freedom Fighters coming over the hill with Holy Thoughts and Power.

Almost immediately I was saving money to get back in the studio.

“Heavenward” is the result.

I started about a million years ago on the A&M label.
Once I figured out what I wanted to contribute, I began self-producing.
A lot of my music has been more acoustic – but, the message has always been the same.

I partnered with Mr. Dill (who also painted Saint Michael for the cover)
And asked some wonderful friends (most excellent) to come share the fun –
(yes, these are my friends, aren’t they awesome?
Listen for Julia growling after the “georgy march.”
She was there, sitting on the floor – her younger sister, Alexis was there, too – at 9 weeks old – we’ve got them both – growling and cooing – a piece of my heaven, to share with you.)

There is a story for each and every song on this CD.
I thought church people would be so happy to have this music.

I was so wrong.

It’s the spiritually minded, people of the future, who love this CD.
Some put it in their player and listen to it everywhere they go.
