ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"Hot Horny Amateurs showcases Groovasaurus as an extremely talented and versatile band. You can't mention anything about this band in a review without first talking about the songwriting. All 8 songs on this disk stake out their own identity, and all 8 are deep, rich, textured pop songs. The two guitar [David Goodrich, Ian Kennedy], keyboard [Ryan Claunch], drums [Mike Piehl], and bass [Lou Ulrich] lineup allow Groovasaurus to work with textures in their songs...
The songs themselves are nicely arranged, never dull, and full of hooks. Anita Suhanin is an extremely gifted vocalist who shows the range to sing over the post grunge guitar attack of "Lay Down and Die," offer a soft and sultry performance on the atmospheric "Visitor" or toss out stream of conscious sing/speak on the instantly catchy Zeppelin riff rocker "Showman." The rhythm section gives a strong performance as well, always providing a solid (hate to say it) groove for the songs to ride on. "Coming Back" with a strong funky drum backbeat is a good example.
God, the praise could go on forever and that is the sign of a good album." (New England Music Archive, 1998)

Why isn't Anita Suhanin a national rock star?
I heard this Groovasaurus cd, (Hot Horny Amateurs), in a used cd store, but the vendor was playing it for himself and it wasn't for sale. Unlike most modern rock cds, every track was terrific. It's hard to believe that Anita Suhanin is not a national rock star with that rich, vibrant voice. Although I have never seen her perform, I know a musical treasure when I hear one. Thanks to CD Baby, I finally possess my own copy.
