“Well, they certainly got the name right. If there were ever a society that knew how to groove, these kids are that utopia.”
~ Sean Dargie – Recorded A Cappella Review Board

"Just when you think you may have heard the 'best', a vocal group completes a long-standing effort to achieve perfection and the marker is moved up. From the opening tune, 'Oye Como Va' through the last ballad 'When October Goes', the stylish rhythms and phrasings, the impeccable harmonies and stunning solos, and the driving blend that never falters, all tell you this is a unique effort by a very talented ensemble... the best I could imagine placing before the world stage. It's golden. Acquire it any way you can!"
~Rol Sharette, The Songster

Although the group's roots are firmly planted in the jazz genre, they are not afraid to demonstrate their versatility by performing in a variety of styles. Whether singing Latin, blues, bebop, rock, pop, funk or R&B, a common thread of exuberant passion and soul runs throughout each performance.

They have appeared at international jazz festivals throughout North America, sharing the billing with, and/or opening for legendary artists including Bonnie Raitt, Bobby McFerrin, Patty Austin, The Rippingtons, Bobby Hutcherson, Jimmy Heath, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Dr. John, The Neville Brothers, Freddy Cole, Styx, and many more!

In addition to their busy performing schedule, Groove Society also works in education, giving workshops and clinics to high school and college students. The group hopes to continue to explore all styles of music and expand their audiences for years to come.

Get ready to escape into a magical jazz club - a club so rich with a myriad of sounds and rhythms that you'll find your whole body starting to dance and move. As you smile you'll start to notice the sounds of rain, drums, Santana's guitar, latin dancers, even the silence of quality rest notes. Still debating which my favorite song here...

As a vocal jazz instructor for 30+ years (and a performer for more than that), I can attest to this group's fine quality. Manhattan Transfer...look out! Vocal Point...you have better competition to emulate. The awards at the recent vocal jazz symposium say it all-Groove Society sets the bar high!!!
