Album Notes

Originally formed in1997 Grump is made up of four former school mates and close friends. With an extensive catalog of original songs they have honed their musical sound for many years. All four of the guys have played and written music together, in any combination, beginning in their early teens. From singing in church together as young men to playing original songs in front of thousands they enjoy their long standing friendship and their uncommon love for music. Three part harmonies, expressive lyrical content and an eclectic musical approach are the hallmark of the Grump sound.
Jeff Taylor-lead vocalist, in a style that has been compared to Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam fame and Lance Staley of Alice N' Chains, is the main vocalist for Grump. His powerful lyrical presence and songwriting are at the heart of Grump. Though he shares the lead vocal spotlight with two other equally talented singers he is considered Grumps lead man.
Bob Bailey-lead vocalist and bassist for Grump brings a slightly softer edge to the bands over all vocal and musical persona. His appreciation of the old school country music sound and his sole full song writing skills lends a musical dimension to the group that allows the guys to explore many of the different influences that the guys pull from to project the Grump sound.
D.J. Riddick-lead vocalist and drummer for Grump is perhaps the most experienced musician in this collective. From elementary school through high school he has always played drums for the local school bands. He has played and recorded professionally for more than 20 years and has been referred to as a world class drummer by the music industry in Nashville TN. His songwriting and haunting harmonies lend the passion to the sound that is Grump.
Grant Williams-lead guitarist, piano, dobro and accordionist brings the eclectic sound to Grump. Focusing on the group’s musical arrangements and approaches he is the stirring presence that defines Grump. His insightful songwriting, melodic rhythm and lead work serves to create the calm or stir the madness of Grump.

Grump has just finished their latest project, The Regeneration, and is taking some time to do a few shows and do some more writing before they begin work on the next project beginning of 2007.
