Grupo Caribe Presents its New CD "Un Congo Me Dio La Letra". This traditional Salsa Dance band features four of the best singers in New York City today; Herman Olivera, Frankie Vazquez, Frankie Figueroa, and Luis Ayala.

Grupo Caribe's new CD titled "Un Congo Me Dio La Letra" has a variety of music including Guarachas, Guaguancos, Cha Cha Cha, Plena, Mambo and Latin Jazz. Guest singers on this CD include Herman Olivera, Frankie Vazquez, and Frankie Figueroa. The CD includes 11 tracks, five original and six classic compositions with a new millennium dressing that will inspire dancers to dance, dance dance. This is Grupo Caribe's 3rd CD release following their first "Son De Melaza" and "Ritmo Nativo" which featured Yomo Toro y La Lloroncita.

"Un Congo Me Dio La Letra" has a special "homenaje" to Tite Curet, composed by Juan "Paye" Rodriguez and interpreted by Frankie Vazquez.

Frankie Figueroa sings Pedro Flores' Yo No Se Nada, and Ignacio Pineiro's Sobre Una Tumba Una Rumba.

Herman Olivera sings Lindo Palomar, Un Congo me Dio La Letra, and Desilucion. Both Herman and Frankie Vazquez sing Chano Pozo's Nague.

Luis Ayala sings Rumba Internacional composed by Emilio Rodriguez.

The arrangements were written by Jose Madera, Oscar Hernandez, Louis Bauzo, Al Acosta, Pepe Castillo, and Sergio Rivera.

The band members on this recording include: Luis Bauzo, Al Acosta, Tony Barrero, Robert Suttman, Jose Madera, Gerry Madera, Ruben Rodriguez, and Bernie Minoso, Luis Ayala who sang with Henry Fiol's Saoco, and myself. Ray Viera sings chorus, and Pepe Castillo plays panderetas.

Great job, great music and great rythim. The best salsa CD of the year. You can compare the sound with the 70's great salsa bands, is salsa dura! Thank's for the making of this great CD, if you want to listen great salsa without buying a CD about 20 or 30 years old , this is the ONE.
