An award winning singer/songwriter, Geoffrey Rutledge has been playing professionally for over two decades. Former front man for popular local band RST; Geoffrey is now embarking on a solo career. A favorite at the Texas Kerrville Folk Festival, Geoffrey has shared the stage with Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt, David Crosby & Graham Nash and John Prine, to name a few. His keen ability to convey his interesting perspective on life through his songwriting, in combination with his rich, smooth voice and sardonic wit, charms audiences from coast to coast.
Wonder why we learned to walk upright? Then you have to hear "Aunt Lucy", or ever ponder the meaning of life? Then try Geoffrey's "Way of the World."
Veterans everywhere may take solace in "Take Me Home." Geoffrey's lyrics will make you laugh, cry and think. Quotes; "Geoffrey Rutledge comes from the California coastal town of Santa Cruz, an area full of talented artists and singers. He reminds me of the great singer-songwriters prevalent in the late 70's such as James Taylor, B.W. Stevenson and Jesse Winchester. In this day and age, you have not only to be a good songwriter, you have to have a great voice as well. Rutledge qualifies in both departments. His voice is smooth and expressive and his arrangements are varied and allways interesting. His songs have been steadily growing on me. Give this newcomer a listen and allow his warm tender songs to grow on you too." Bll Frater Freight Train Boogie
"Refreshingly new...great presentation.

"Geoffrey Rutledge's Big Top is big stuff. The 12 track ensemble is a fresh, free-spirited romp with enough good, cheery feelings to make grins happen. The glue that binds this fine montage is Rutledge's seemingly open nature and passion for the product. One gets the sense this fellow really loves what he is doing. A rich powerful and lovely experience, easy on the ears and warm in the heart.

I like this CD very much...

This CD is a great compilation of original tunes - many of which get stuck in your head long after you've heard them. I purchased two additional CDs as gifts and the recipients share the same opinion. It's good... get one for yourself.

bought cd for one song and really liked some of the others as well
author: Scott Miller
Bought cd for " take me home " which we hope to learn and play with our prison band. This song is perfect for our gospel messsage. I really liked some of the other band oriented up beat songs on the cd. Watch dog baby is my favorite. Has Geoffrey ever done " take me home " with a band? We are having trouble with the timing. - Grin. Thanks - Scott Miller - 408-261-2595 cell 408-761-2218
