Interesting !

This isn't a regular music album. It seems to be an actual recording session, complete with the performers commenting and working out how to perform the pieces, while the composer guides them. The sonatinas are interesting short pieces intended for adult intermediate piano students. It is fascinating at times to hear the process of bringing the music to life. The indexing lets you skip to the music. The Non Tantos are older recordings of early works, the quality isn't so good. They were recorded live, and there is
some hiss. The last work, "The Magician's Spell”, is quite impressive. It is very
sonorous and dreamy, and it feels as if we are in another period of history somehow. 4 stars for the quality of the older recordings, but 5 stars for the music, and the amount of music, and the intimate personality of the overall album. It’s a good value for the price, one of the best CD’s I’ve purchased lately.
