Album Notes

Come Here…

G-spot has been on the Indie music scene for more then nine years, fueled by the passion & relentless dedication of their founder & lead singer, Gail Silverman. With her original bass player, Donald Dixon, loyally by her side, the band & music continue to grow & flourish!

G-spot has released two CDs, Experience the Pleasure & Come Here Go Away, with their second release G-spot really hit their stride. Come Here Go Away is a punky, rock-pop, hi-energy wild roller coaster ride that takes it’s listeners from one peak to the next, leaving them catching their breath, & wanting to go back on the ride again & again. It's got a vibe that's as much No Doubt as it is the Donnas, but has an attitude & an edge reminiscent of rock divas such as Joan Jett. Both CDs as well as their live performances have received rave reviews.

The TV & film industry has been taking notice of G-spot; their song Hey Creator was featured in the premiere episode of the A&E series Lonestar Rollergirls. In addition, songs Revolutionary & Even the Mighty Fall were placed in the Independent feature film, Just Another Romantic Wrestling Comedy and they were recently selected to be featured in a new TV series called Rockin’ Kitchen.

G-spot has also been a featured artist at gogirlsmusic.com & femmuse.com & they have generated airplay on many college stations in NY & NJ. G-spot held the coveted slot on Long Island's #1 Rock station, WBAB 102.3's Homegrown show; they spun the title track: Come Here, Go Away, the anti-industry anthem Revolutionary & the hot & sexy Harley Song. G-spot has also been featured multiple times on The Jersey Rock Radio Show (WRAT 95.9FM) & WVBR’s Last Exit For Lost among others.

In their live show Gail’s a siren, commanding the audience’s attention by juxtaposing her sassy wit & her naked vulnerability, her magnetism & her enlightenment, her wrath & her passion, with a no-holds barred delivery of emotion. With a fantastic team of musicians backing her up including Donald Dixon on bass of course, Phil Bloom on drums & Ed Kuri on lead guitar this band explodes on stage. G-spot plays regularly at many of NYC & the East Coast’s hottest rock clubs.

In 2002, Gail created Revolutionary Records, to support
G-spot & other independent artists, creating an environment where bands collaborate to showcase & bring to the surface fantastic under-the-radar talent. One of their initial efforts was the Girls Rock & Girls Rule Showcase, recently celebrating their 5th Anniversary in NYC. In 2007, Girls Rock & Girls Rule hits the road featuring G-spot & the East Coast’s most rockin’ femmes. This year’s tour will hit 13 cites with a portion of the proceeds to benefit Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls. More info @ myspace.com/girlsrockgirlsrule.

Expect to hear a lot more about G-spot and Girls Rock & Girls Rule then you can say, “I told you so” when you predicted they’d be the next most anticipated & hottest thing on the indie music scene! Remember all we ask is you “experience the pleasure”

Now...Go Away! Or better yet by the album!

REVIEWS

soft and sensitive, and at other times they steam away at full force!
author: Toine van Poorten/Metal Maidens magazine
G-SPOT presents us their second full length album, containing thirteen songs and over fifty minutes of mighty fine punk rock music. The album has got two sides, like the title already suggests. One side tells you to 'Come Here', it's the sensitive side of G-SPOT. Listen to "Beautiful Face" for example. The other side tells you to 'Go Away', it's the punky side of the band, telling you to bugger off and leave the band alone. The two sides are also very well presented in the CD booklet. But hey, is this only my imagination? Is this really a drawing of two different vaginas???? With a bandname like that, I wouldn't be surprised. The 'red' vagina asks you to 'come here', while the dark blue/green vagina tells you to 'go away'. Anyway, I am drifting away a bit from what I am supposed to do here, and that is to describe the music of G-SPOT to you. Think about NO DOUBT, with Nina Hagen on vocals. Yep, the band has got two sides in their music as well. Sometimes it's soft and sensitive, while at other times, they really steam away at full force (f.e. in "Revolutio-nairy"). Although, the CD contains much more. Put the CD in your vagina…….oops sorry… I mean PC of course, and you'll see some nice pictures and an explanation and instruction for using 'triple mantra'. A "Triple Mantra Meditation" of over thirteen minutes closes the CD. G-SPOT consists of Gail Silverman on vocals and acoustic guitar, Donald Dixon on bass, Dennis Winge on guitar and Phil Bloom on drums. "Believe In Us" is the quadruplicated version of BABES IN TOYLAND, while "Call On You" brings us back in the real world again. Think about it how you want to, bottom line is that this New York City based band shows a lot of variation. The packaging of the promotional stuff was very well taken care of by the way, and the fortune cookies tasted very well! Most of the G-spots are very well hidden, this one is wide open for you, but don't come too close!!!
