This music is truly amazing! A mix of Jazz, Psychedelic, Chinese, Funk, Blues, Rock, Middle Eastern and Ambient textures, Moon and Legend was produced and arranged by Gary Schwantes who also plays Saxophones, Guitar, Keyboards and Bamboo Flute. Additional magic is added by reknowned Guzheng (Chinese Zither) virtuoso Weishan Liu, S.F. Symphony Percussionist Ray Froehlich, L.A. Session Veteran David Keif on Bass and Guzheng artist Winnie Wong. The band originated and developed their sound working a regular gig at a small jazz club in downtown San Francisco. Word of mouth from this gig led to other opportunities, including several high profile performances and the release of Moon and Legend, the band's first CD. A colorful and unique blend of exotic, experimental and classic textures... this is a fresh, new San Francisco sound.
