Guava Canoe is a 13-piece reggae band formed in February, 2000, at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut. For two years Guava Canoe gigged extensively throughout Wesleyan University and Middletown, playing in a diverse range of performance spaces. Guava Canoe plays a mix of originals and covers, boasting great appeal to a wide range of listeners and partygoers, and has developed a
local following as a result. However, with nearly all the members graduating and spreading about the country in the last two years, the band has been forced to take a break. As of this time, May '03, revivals and reformations have been discussed, but dates have not yet been set.
The recording is a self-produced album of six original songs totaling 30-minutes of music. The album was recorded at a local studio in Middletown, CT, then pressed and printed with original artwork from the band.
