notes
Kicking Mule Records was extremely influencial in the development of modern solo guitar styles.
The company began in the early 1970s soon after John Fahey, Leo Kottke and Robbie Basho created the modern steel string solo guitar movement and before Windham Hill Records ushered in what became known as New Age Guitar.
Not long after Fantasy Records bought the old Kicking Mule catalog in the mid 1990s they asked Dale Miller to produce this compilation CD of "greatest hits" from K.M. LPs released in the 1970s and early 1980s. It was released in 1997. The CD has been discontinued and these copies on CD baby are among the few still available.
The guitarists on this CD are -
Bob Hadley, Nick Katzman, Miller, Chris Proctor and Bob Stanton.
The DALE MILLER WEBSITE link below and to the left will take you to a page with links to the other guitartists on the recording except Stanton who apparently has no site. (Please email if you know about him).
The EMAIL VARIOUS ARTISTS link below goes to Miller, who will forward all email to all the artists except Stanton who appears to have no email address.
