I first heard about Andrés Carrasco through friends. Rumor had it he was the kind of guitar player that could make the hair on the back of your neck stand on end. I wanted to find out for myself, so I invited him over to the house.
When we finally got together I was immediately surprised by the beautiful sounds he could coax from his nylon string guitar. I had played electric rock and jazz all my life, so this classical sound was new to me. I picked up my old dusty acoustic guitar and we started jamming on Aranjuez just by ear, and I realized this was something very special - Guitar Romantica was born. The sound of that nylon string guitar blending with my steel string got me so excited about acoustic guitar music that I drove up to Hollywood the next weekend and bought a new Carvin acoustic electric guitar.
I am so fortunate to have met Andrés. His outgoing personality, quick wit, and gigantic heart make him my perfect musical companion. He has taught me so much, especially about playing rhythm and really feeling the music. I shall be forever grateful. - Kent Lindsay
It only took three notes for me to realize that my chance meeting with Kent was more than just "chemistry". Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would be lucky enough to run into Kent, a superbly clean player, who can read proficiently, and play from the heart with a style all his own. His ability to pick up "Latin" rhythms coupled with his rock and jazz roots have generated a monster guitarist.
More importantly though, is not only his talent, but who he is as a person - kind, giving, patient, and smart. I know the next passage on our journey is going to be rewarding, as we continue to create more new music that we can call our own. Thank you Kent. There is no way I could have finished this project without you! - Andrés Carrasco
